Yes. The app never automatically overwrites your content without your approval. All AI-generated content is shown in a preview before applying. You can also restore original content at any time through the app's job history. The app uses secure Shopify OAuth and never stores your customer data.
Does it work with all Shopify plans?
Yes, Bulk AI Product Editor - SEO works with all Shopify plans, including Basic, Shopify, Advanced, and Shopify Plus. Shopify Plus merchants benefit from higher API rate limits which means faster bulk processing for very large catalogs.
What languages does the AI support?
The AI can generate product content in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Arabic, and many other languages. Simply select your target language in the app settings before running a bulk job.

What fields can the app optimize?
The app can generate and optimize: Product Titles, Product Descriptions (HTML-formatted), SEO Meta Titles, SEO Meta Descriptions, Product Tags, Alt Text for product images, and Vendor/Product Type classifications. You can choose which fields to update on each bulk job.
Can I customize the AI prompts?
Yes. Pro and Enterprise plans include a custom prompt editor where you can define your brand voice, specify required keywords, set character limits, and add formatting instructions. For example, you can tell the AI to 'always mention our free shipping offer' or 'write in a luxury brand tone'.
How many products can I edit at once?
The app is designed for scale. On the Starter plan you can process up to 100 products per job. The Pro plan allows up to 1,000 products per job, and the Enterprise plan has unlimited products per job. Jobs run asynchronously in the background so you can continue other work.
Can I preview changes before applying them?
Absolutely. Every bulk job shows a preview screen where you can compare the original content side-by-side with the AI-generated version. You can approve all, reject all, or select individual products to include or exclude before applying changes.
Does the app handle product variants?
Yes. The app is variant-aware and can generate unique descriptions for each variant type (size, color, material, etc.) or produce a single intelligent description that covers all variants. This behavior is configurable per job.
Can I run jobs on specific collections only?
Yes. You can scope any bulk job to a specific Shopify collection, a vendor, a product type, or a custom tag filter. This lets you target specific categories without affecting your entire catalog.
Setup & Installation
How do I install the app?
Install Bulk AI Product Editor - SEO directly from the Shopify App Store. Click 'Add app', authorize the required permissions (read/write products), and you'll be taken to the app dashboard. No coding or theme changes are required.
What permissions does the app need?
The app requests read and write access to your Products and Metafields. It also requires read access to your shop info to determine the store domain and plan level. The app does NOT access customer data, orders, or payment information.
How long does the setup take?
Setup takes less than 2 minutes. After installing, you can immediately run your first bulk job. There's no configuration required to get started — just select your products, choose which fields to optimize, and click Run.
Do I need any coding knowledge?
No coding knowledge is required. The app has a visual, no-code interface. All operations are done through the dashboard with point-and-click controls.
Pricing & Billing
Is there a free trial?
Yes! Every new installation includes a 7-day free trial on the Pro plan so you can experience all features before committing. No credit card is required during the trial period. After the trial, you can choose the plan that fits your needs.
How does billing work?
Billing is handled entirely by Shopify through their standard app billing system. Charges appear on your Shopify invoice alongside your subscription. You can cancel at any time directly from the app or from your Shopify admin.
What happens if I exceed my product limit?
If you try to run a job that exceeds your plan's limit, the app will notify you and ask if you want to upgrade. You won't be charged anything unexpected — all upgrades are confirmed by you before processing.
Can I change plans at any time?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from within the app. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle.
Do you offer refunds?
Since billing is managed by Shopify, refund requests should be submitted through Shopify support. We also offer a 7-day free trial so you can fully evaluate the app before being charged.
Technical
How fast does the bulk processing work?
Processing speed depends on your catalog size and Shopify API rate limits (which vary by plan). Typically, the app processes 50–150 products per minute. A catalog of 1,000 products usually completes within 10–20 minutes. You'll receive an in-app notification when the job is done.
What happens if a job fails midway?
The app uses a robust job queue with automatic retry logic. If a job fails (e.g., due to a Shopify API timeout), it automatically retries failed products up to 3 times. The job log shows which products succeeded and which failed, so you can re-run only the failures.
Can I undo changes after applying them?
Yes. The app stores a snapshot of your original product data before any changes are applied. From the Job History screen, you can click 'Restore' on any completed job to roll back all changes for that job in one click.
Does the app affect my store's speed or performance?
No. The app runs entirely in the background using background jobs and does not add any scripts, code, or widgets to your storefront. Your store's loading speed is completely unaffected.
Is my store data secure?
Yes. The app communicates exclusively over HTTPS, uses Shopify's secure OAuth system, and does not store any customer or order data. Product data is only temporarily processed in memory during job execution and is not permanently stored on our servers.
